A coming-of-age story that seemed like it had been written as a series of novellas rather than one whole novel, this Young Adult book felt a bit more plodding and heavy-handed than I would have liked. I enjoyed the story but ultimately felt that it was a bit too basic, a bit too flat, not relatable enough.
